Demonstrators in Jaffna request UN Secretary General to visit the North and East

There was a demonstration organised by the Consortium of Humanitarian Organisations, the Union of University students, the Union of religious priests and the Union of Tamil students, in front of the UN Office situated in Temple Road, Jaffna, this morning(05-Jan-2005) at about 11.00 a.m.This was to draw the attention of the UN in order to elicit a visit of the visiting UN Secretary General, Mr.Kofi Annan, even at the eleventh hour.

A memorandum was submitted to the UN representative a the above mentioned office.
