Human Development Centre (HUDEC) – Caritas Jaffna
Loan Scheme to Assist Women Engaged in Self Employment

SEYLAN Bank has come forward to grant loans to individual members of the women’s groups functioning under HUDEC organisation in order to increase their income so as to develop these women’s groups.
Seylan Bank has agreed to grant loans to 90 members who have been selected from about 11 of the HUDEC groups as a first stage under this scheme.
As an inauguration step 10 members were formally awarded payment order vouchers in the presence of Mr. Ajith Pasqual – Director / GM / CEO of Seylan Bank who had come from Colombo and other representatives of the bank, in the HUDEC organisation on 28th January 2005.
Mr. Ajith Pasqual - Director / GM / CEO, Mr. Pandukka Jayamanne DGM, HRM, Dr. Nihal Ramanayake DGM ITO, Mr. Kulendra Seylan DGM BDP, Mr.Padmanathan Niranjan AGM RCD III, Mr. Kulasegeram Kanagasingam Manager Jaffna, Mr. A.S.Aravinthan and Mr.V. Premkumar from Seylan Bank were associated with Rev.Fr.C.G.Jeyakumar – Director of HUDEC – Caritas Jaffna in this function.
About 100 women representatives also participated.
